Lumeon v25.3 – December 2025
Activity and Pathway Management
Display File ID for Paper Archive Files
Paper Archive files store patient-related documents within the platform. To ensure each file can be uniquely identified across the system—for example, when referenced in the EMR—the file ID is now displayed directly within the archive.
Digital Rounding Enhancements
Automatic Digital Round Closure
Digital rounds should be manually closed by the assigned owner, but this does not always occur and can affect reporting. You can now configure a maximum round duration. During scheduled updates (e.g., at midnight), any round that has exceeded its maximum duration will automatically be closed. Rounds that have not yet reached the maximum duration remain open until the next update.
Simplified “Start a Round” Page
The “Start a Round” page has been streamlined to provide a more consistent and intuitive selection process. Key roles are now clearly distinguished from additional roles, making it easier for users to select the appropriate options.
Platform Configuration
UI Modernization Updates
As part of our ongoing UI modernization efforts, several pages have been refreshed. Updates include an improved navigation menu, enhanced worklist functionality, and redesigned layouts for commonly used pages such as Activity View, Configuration, and Reports. Additional pages will continue to be updated in future releases. For questions, please contact your account manager.
Security Improvements
SMS Delivery for Two-Factor Authentication Codes
User types configured for two-factor authentication will receive a one-time code upon login. Previously, SMS delivery was available only for UK-based clients. This capability has now been expanded and is available to all clients.
Lumeon v25.2 - August 2025
Activity and Pathway Managment
Allow a user to assign/update an activity for an existing appointment
Users with the appropriate security settings can now link an appointment to an activity from the Appointment page. Appointments can be linked to an activity automatically when they’re booked. However, there are instances where users wish to link the activity after the appointment was booked; this is now supported.
Assign attributes and attribute values to an activity
You can now define a set of attribute types and afterwards assign a value to an attribute type at a specific point in the pathway using a pathway action. These attribute values can then be accessed to drive pathway behavior and displayed in search templates and worklists.
Expand Lookup tables to store more information
Lookup tables allow users to set up a list of key value pairs, which can then be accessed by the pathway engines. As the usage of these tables has expanded, there is a need to store more content in these tables and so these field sizesfields have been increased.
Include activity id field in email table
When an email is triggered from a pathway, it is logged in the email table. We have now updated the table to also log the activity that triggered. This helps facilitate proper auditing and troubleshooting.
Improve Digital Rounding
Support Leadership Roles within rounds
Leadership roles can now be configured and added to a round type. Users can then mark these roles as having attended, at both the start and end of a round.
Updates to round attendance after a round has started
The digital rounding tool captures which roles participated in a round. Previously, a round manager could only add or remove attendance at the start of the round. Now, they can also update attendees at the end of the round.
Capture attendee details for round attendance/unattendance
The roles that attended a patient can be checked/unchecked during a round. If an individual such as an Attending Provider is associated with the encounter, their details are captured and marked as either attended or unattended. This data is available for reporting.
Configurable “Preset Discharge Date” button in ADOD widget
Administrator users can now configure the Preset Discharge Date button within the ADOD QuickView widget. This button can be configured with a custom plain text label and a custom dynamic date using Twig syntax. Once configured, this button allows for simple one-click date selection when updating a patient’s ADOD during patient rounds.
Integrated Healthcare
SMART on FHIR App allows approval of laboratory orders
The SMART app allows a provider within an EHR to, individually or in bulk, approve a set of laboratory orders assigned to them. The availability of this feature is dependent on your EHR and other integrations. Pease contact your account manager if you’re interested in utilizing this feature.
Appointment reschedule in the FHIR API
Rescheduling appointments can now be done via the FHIR API, allowing a third party to pass additional parameters in the FHIR message to indicate that a booking request is a request to update the time and date of an existing appointment. Previously, if a third party wanted to update the date and time of an appointment, they’d have to cancel the existing appointment and create a new one.
Platform Configuration
Redirect users to login page when session expires
Users are now redirected to the login page if they do not interact with the application for an extended period of time. You’re automatically redirected to the page you were on when you log back in.
Update SMS sending to respect campaign-level opt-outs
If a patient is opted out of SMS they are not sent an SMS, even if the pathway is built to send one. This also affects SMS opt outs for activities linked to specific campaigns. When this happens, an event is logged so users can see that the message wasn’t sent for this reason.
Add a warning when cancelling a staff member
A warning message stating that users cannot be reinstated after being removed now appears when an administrator tries to remove a staff member from the platform. This prevents administrators from accidentally removing staff members.
Created Date and Created By fields added to the appointment table
The Created Date and Created By Fields are now featured in the appointment table, showing when an appointment was created and who created it. This helps facilitate proper auditing and troubleshooting.
Updates to the Lumeon UI
As part of the ongoing work to modernize the Lumeon UI, various changes have been made to certain pages within the application. This includes an updated navigation menu, improved worklist functionality, and a new look for a subset of common user pages, such as the activity view, configuration page, and report page. Other pages will follow over the upcoming releases. Please contact your account manager if you have any additional questions.
Validate Twig syntax before saving pathway rules
If the twig is accidentally mistyped, the twig syntax is now validated before saving pathway rules. This ensures the syntax of the rule is correct (e.g., matching number of open/closed brackets) and reduces possible error.
Worklist Improvements
Allow worklist display to be controlled by user group membership
A large number of worklists can be created, but not all users need to see all worklists. This can be controlled by the user access type. In scenarios where different users need to see different combinations of worklists, a large number of different user types are required. You can now control the display of a worklist based on the user’s membership of a specific user group instead of basing it on their user type. Therefore, users can all have the same user access type, but they can view different worklists.
Lumeon v25.1 - February 2025
Pathway Improvements
Remove pathway evaluation lock immediately on non-PM evaluation failure
The lock on the patient will be removed immediately regardless of the outcome when a non-process manager evaluation (e.g. incoming HL7 messages) completes. This is due to no risk of failure repeating and allows the patient to continue down the pathway uninterrupted.
Support more response options for multiple choice questions
You can now add up to 1000 response options when you create a multiple-choice question.Create an activity from an inbound FHIR message
An activity can now be created directly by an inbound FHIR message. The activity can be linked to an existing patient, encounter, and company.
Stay on Edit Pathway page when clicking Update
When modifying a pathway via the Edit Pathway page, you will now remain on the Edit Pathway page after clicking the Update button.
Patient Optometrist is Twig accessible
Data related to a patient’s optometrist is now accessible via Twig and can be used within communication templates or pathway logic.
Patient Communications
Display communication schemes option on the SMS page
The Communication Schemes dropdown will now only show if the communication scheme core config is enabled when creating a new SMS template.
Support sending ISMS & IVR without using communication schemes
You can now send an SMS/IVR from an environment where the communication schemes disabled. If you create an action within a system where communication schemes are disabled, the dropdown where you would select the communication scheme trigger now allows you to select an SMS/IVR template instead.
Allow Digital Signature questions to work in forms
You can now add a Digital Signature question type so that a patient can write their signature using a mouse or a touchscreen when you create a new form using the new UI style option.
Patient Managment
Delete in the Paper Archive Trash
You now have the option to delete files in the Paper Archive Trash section, preventing trashed files from being viewed or downloaded.
Task Managment
Show the Patient field in the New Task modal
The functionality around how the New Task modal handles the Patient field has been updated. This change will make it easier to tell whether the patient is already picked or if you still need to pick one.
- If the patient’s ID is passed in, you’ll see their name, but you won’t be able to edit it.
- If the patient’s ID isn’t passed in, you’ll see an empty field that you can fill in asneeded.
- If your Task Display template is set to hide the Patient field, it’ll be hidden, regardless of whether you’ve passed in a patient ID or not.
