Lumeon v26.2 – September 2026
New Features
Agent-assisted payments
- Added Eckoh as a new integrated secure card payment option on the Invoices and Payments screen. Once a payment is completed, the platform updates automatically to reflect the result.
- Extended this payment option to appointment booking, so a card payment can be taken and linked to the appointment as part of the booking process itself.
- Eckoh allows a customer to enter their card details via their telephone keypad, with the details automatically captured in the payment modal. This reduces the risk of a PCI compliance breach, since no card information is shared verbally on the call.
NHS Reasonable Adjustment improvements
In the previous release, 26.1, we built a basic read-only integration with the NHS to obtain Reasonable Adjustment information. In this release we have made a series of improvements to that feature to comply with updated requirements and additional clarifications from the NHS.
- Added a new, more limited level of access to Reasonable Adjustment information, so staff can be given appropriate visibility of a patient's adjustments without seeing their full record.
- Reasonable Adjustment information is no longer retrieved or displayed for patients marked as sensitive, and the message explaining this has been clarified.
- Added the ability to record when a patient objects to their Reasonable Adjustment information being shared, so their preference is respected in future NHS data exchanges.
- Added Underlying Conditions information when supplied by the NHS.
- Removed the previous requirement to record consent when creating a Reasonable Adjustment record, in line with the NHS's own decision to discontinue this.
- Improved the accuracy and reliability of Reasonable Adjustment information retrieved from NHS Spine, including additional checks to ensure data is matched to the correct patient.
- Made the Reasonable Adjustments page clearer overall: patient details are now shown for easy reference, dates follow standard NHS formatting, wording has been improved throughout, and users without full access now see a clear explanation rather than no information at all.
- Strengthened the audit trail behind NHS data exchanges to support ongoing compliance requirements.
Automated laboratory tasks
- Automated task creation for lab results (for example, orders complete, abnormal results, or amended results) is now available to all EMR users, rather than only those using the EMR2 encounter workflow.
Booking and managing classes
- Improved the messaging shown when moving a class to a new time or location that isn't valid for all participants, making it clearer what has happened and why.
- Added the ability to open a class participant's record directly from a worklist, matching the existing functionality already available for appointments.
- When searching for a class to book, the list of available locations is now limited to those relevant to the staff member, making it quicker to find the right option.
- Staff can now assign an activity to a class participant at the point of booking — whether booking via the search engine or the diary — rather than as a separate step afterwards.
- Added a "Send all to queue" option for classes, so every participant can be moved to the appointment queue in a single action instead of one at a time.
Patient communication preference
- SMS and automated voice call (IVR) reminders now follow a patient's chosen order of contact preference, in the same way that email, phone and letter communications already do.
FHIR patient identifiers
- Added support for reading and updating a patient's NHS Number, medical record number and external ID through the FHIR Patient integration, including validation checks and the ability to search for a patient by any of these identifiers.
Accessibility improvements
- Screen reader users can now more easily understand the purpose of embedded content on the Secure Form pages, including the email message itself and any secure forms.
- Dropdown selection fields within Secure Forms now work more reliably with screen readers and other assistive technology, making it easier for all users to complete and submit forms independently.
- The file upload tool used within Secure Forms has been updated to work correctly with screen readers, so users relying on assistive technology can attach files without confusing or incorrect prompts.
Resolved Issues
Client-reported issues resolved in this release.
| Support ticket | Description | Backported versions |
|---|---|---|
| LUMEON-53769 | When creating a new enquiry, the billing/payer field didn't automatically fill in even when a valid match was available, occasionally leaving it stuck and unselectable. | 26.1.5 |
| LUMEON-53941 | Searching for medications in the SafeScript drug database sometimes returned no results, even when matching records existed. | 26.1.5, 6.3.68 |
| LUMEON-53819 | For users with a default location set, worklist counters only reflected that default location instead of all the locations included in the worklist. | 26.1.5 |
| LUMEON-52828 | Searching for a patient by surname when creating a new activity would stop matching at the first space in the name, so surnames containing a space weren't found. | 26.1.5 |
| LUMEON-53685, LUMEON-53315 | Multi-section forms were being saved section-by-section instead of as a single, complete submission when the "save whole form" option was used. | 6.3.68 |
| LUMEON-53888 | The pop-up that flags differences between a patient's contact details and NHS records incorrectly flagged a phone number as mismatched when both sides simply had no number recorded at all. | 6.1.31, 6.3.67, 26.1.5 |
| LUMEON-53489 | The automated process that closes out overdue ward rounds was incorrectly re-closing rounds that had already been properly ended, and recorded the change as made by an anonymous user instead of the system. | 26.1.5 |
| LUMEON-53498 | The most recent response in a patient form's history was highlighted in the wrong colour (blue instead of green), making it harder to spot at a glance. | 6.3.67, 26.1.5 |
| LUMEON-53457 | A multi-part appointment requiring two different rooms could not be booked, even when both rooms were available. | 6.3.67 |
| LUMEON-49583 | After taking an action on a patient further down a worklist, the page occasionally failed to scroll back to the correct position, especially on slower connections. | 25.3.7, 26.1.5 |
| LUMEON-53245 | A pathway automation step that looks up an external practitioner by name and email sometimes failed with a "multiple practitioners found" error, even when only one active matching practitioner existed. | 6.3.67, 26.1.5 |
| LUMEON-53203 | When two patient records were merged, the audit log recorded which record was "kept" and which was "merged away" the wrong way round. | 6.3.67, 26.1.4 |
| LUMEON-52812 | Some medications were missing from the SafeScript drug database import due to a data-matching issue, meaning certain drugs couldn't be found when prescribing. | 26.1.5, 6.3.68 |
| LUMEON-52918 | Clicking a card payment reference to issue a refund produced an error and prevented the refund from being processed. | 26.1.0, 6.3.67 |
| LUMEON-52722, LUMEON-52721 | Opening a worklist could trigger a pop-up error and prevent the page from working correctly. | 26.1.0, 25.3.5 |
| LUMEON-50240, LUMEON-43329 | Under certain configuration settings, clinical journal (EMR) entries could not be amended or deleted once created. | 26.1.5 |
Lumeon v26.1 – April 2026
Platform Configuration
Link a patient to their practice during import
You can now associate patients with a specific practice as part of the patient import process. By including a practice code in the import file, patients are automatically linked to the correct practice when created in bulk—reducing manual updates and improving data accuracy.
Appointment Management
Automatically log a reason for NHS eRS error 50
When an NHS eRS appointment is cancelled using the “50 – Further information required” option, a reason is not always provided by eRS. The platform now automatically applies a default reason of “No further information provided”, enabling these messages to be processed successfully and reducing support intervention.
Warn you when opening an older appointment
EMR2 now alerts you if you attempt to open an appointment that is not the most recent for a patient. This helps prevent accidental updates to outdated appointments while still allowing you to proceed if the older appointment is intentional.
Launch third‑party payment pages in a modal
You can now configure an external payment button on the Invoices & Payments page to open a third‑party payment provider in a modal window. Key details—such as patient ID and payment amount—can be passed automatically, streamlining external payment workflows while continuing to log payments within Lumeon.
Patient Management
Include both patient IDs in outbound merge messages
Outbound messages generated during patient merges now consistently include the original IDs of both the active and cancelled patient records. This ensures downstream systems can reliably update and reconcile their records following a merge.
View NHS Reasonable Adjustment information in Lumeon
Lumeon now supports a read‑only integration with the NHS Reasonable Adjustment API, allowing you to view Reasonable Adjustment and impairment details for NHS‑registered patients directly within the platform. You can see when the information was last updated and request the latest data, provided the required NHS connections (including PDS lookup) are in place.
Use Reasonable Adjustment data within pathways
Captured Reasonable Adjustment information can now be used within pathway configuration. Configuration users can reference this data to influence pathway decisions or display it to end users. A new action also enables you to refresh Reasonable Adjustment data directly from worklists, the Operator UI, or automatically at defined transition points in a patient’s journey.
